For any of you who don’t already know we now have our very own FACE BOOK page, to access this page log into your own face book page and search shop@southfield-stationers.com and then request to be a friend. I have been uploading pictures of cards we have been making in the shop and if you click on the photo a description should appear underneath of which materials were used. (I have not done this for all the cards but should have it done by the end of the week.)

This weeks CHILDREN’S workshops are Tuesday 27th July 11am-12.30pm -  make your own canvas creation.

Thursday 29th July 11am-12.30pm - making trinket boxes and treasure chests and also on Thursday there is the children’s pop-in 11am-1.30pm.

For the adults we have two drop-ins on Tuesday 27th July 1pm-4.30pm and then Thursday 29th in the evening 6-9pm.

Also on Wednesday 28th July is our Parchment workshop and that runs 10am-1pm. If you would like any more information on any of these events please call on 0131 654 4302.

Saturday we have a rolling demonstration with Yvonne showing you how to get the best from your TIM HOLTS products including Distress inks, ink pads, alcohol inks and some of his new sizzix dies. This is on 11am-4.30pm so just pop along when you have time.

For any of you who do not receive our weekly e-mails we would just like to let you know that this months Making Cards and Parchment Craft magazines are both now in stock and we are happy to put one aside for anyone who would like one. We have some new cuttlebug embossing folders in stock and also Sizzix dies and embossing folders including some new designs by Tim Holts.

Children’s workshops we have - MAKE YOUR OWN MOBILE on Thursday 22nd 11am-12.30pm when you can create a fantastic mobile for your room or as a gift. There is also the pop-in again on Thursday which will run between 11am-1.30pm. Please book for the workshop.

For the adults we have two drop ins, Tuesday 20th 1pm-4.30pm and then Saturday 24th at the same time.

Then Thursday 22nd we have an evening workshop on calligraphy 6.30pm-8.30pm with Yvonne.

This week at Southfield’s we have two drop-ins, the first is on Tuesday 13th July 1pm-4.30pm and then the second is on Thursday 15th July, this one being an evening drop-in 6pm-9pm.

We also have a FREE demo on Wednesday 14th 11am-12.30pm on sakura pens demonstrating how to get the best out of your sakura gel pens.

Also on Thursday 15th July in the evening we have the second of our photoshop workshops with Derek giving you ideas and tips on how to get the best out of your photoshop.

Saturday 17th July we have a workshop on Parchment craft from 10am-1pm. We also have an all day demonstration on stencils showing the different materials and uses you can get from them. This is FREE - you don’t need to book so just pop along if you have time.

And finally for the CHILDREN we have the second of our pop-ins on Thursday 15th July 11am-1.30pm this was a great success last week and we hope to see some familiar faces again this week.

We would like to start by thanking all our customers who were kind enough to donate all the wonderful items we had for our charity table this weekend, it was a fantastic success. We would also like to thank everyone who came along on Saturday and Sunday to join in, with all your help we have managed to Raise over £400 for or chosen charity ‘The Compassionate Friends’. So well done everyone for all your hard work and participation. We are being sent a certificate which we will put up in the shop for everyone to see.

We are also pleased to announce that the winner of our raffle from the weekend is Celia Kinmont, so well done Celia.

This week we have the start of the children’s workshops and pop-ins. On Wednesday 7th July we have “Murder Mystery” with Ann Gray learning how to solve clues just like real detectives. 11-12.30pm and on Thursday 8th there is a pop-in in the shop were children (accompanied by an adult) can come along to craft and create Anytime between 11-1.30pm. This may seem to be a bit long, but we have so much information we would like to share with you that we hope you will take the time to read this all as we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on all the fantastic bargains and offers!

SATURDAY 3RD & SUNDAY 4TH JULY - We have a charity table packed with loads of fantastic crafting goodies donated by lots of our customers which we will be selling for very low prices and all the proceeds will be going to “The Compassionate Friends” (for more information please go to www.tcf.org.uk) a charity which helps parents and family to come to terms with the loss of a child or children.

There will be a raffle for £50 worth of crafting goodies (the winner will be picked on Monday and will also be asked to choose the charity of their choice for our next charity event), 15% off all normal shop stock, bargain basket and half price on all cutting mats and scissors.

Yvonne will be here on Saturday offering a 20 min. ‘Indian Head Massage’ for £10.

And for the children we will have face painting, and No cook bakery classes with Jan for £5 making marshmallow roll, chocolate short cake, easy truffles and german biscuits. Classes are 11am - 12.30pm or 2pm - 3.30pm (please phone and book for these). So lots of good stuff going on  for you to come along and join in with.

Before our big event weekend we have on this week two drop-ins Tuesday 29th June 1-4.30pm and Thursday 1st July in the evening 6-9pm. Also on Wednesday 30th June we have a Parchment workshop 10am-1pm. We also have in store our brand new line of Southfield topper sheets and have samples of some of them up in the shop to give you a bit of inspiration and in our on line gallery.

We would just like to say a BIG thank you to Edith and Linda from Ellanee for coming along and demonstrating for us on Saturday. The shop was really busy and  we have had a brilliant response from all our customers who came along to see them. If you didn’t manage to get along on Saturday or you haven’t seen them before there are lots of samples in the shop, and also they will be coming back again in the not too distant future, hopefully doing a Christmas themed demonstration next time.

This week we have our two drop-ins on Tuesday 22nd June 1pm-4.30pm and then on Saturday 26th June also 1pm-4.30pm. Come along and join in with other crafters making cards and sharing new ideas.

Thursday 24th June is the first of our calligraphy classes with Yvonne. The class is in the evening and runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. There are still a couple of places left so if you would like to come along please phone the shop on 0131 654 4302 to book a place.

We have a lot going on at Southfield this week!

The BIG EVENT of THIS WEEK is SATURDAY 19TH JUNE where we have our SPECIAL GUEST DEMONSTRATORS Linda and Edith from ELLANEE CARDS. Both seasoned crafters and demonstrators they have some fantastic new and exciting ideas to show you for card making and are coming all the way from Perth to do so. They are here from 11-4pm, and it is FREE!

The rest of the week consists of two drop-ins, the first, today Tuesday 15th June between 1pm-4.30pm and the second on Thursday 17th June 6pm-9pm, also on Thursday night Derek will be holding the second of his Photoshop workshops 7pm-8.30pm.

We have a FREE demo tomorrow Wednesday 16th June 11-12.30pm on how to get the best out of your stamp positioner and how to use masking techniques with your stamps.

On Saturday 19th June we have our photography surgery with John Fowler 10-12pm.  More hints and tips on how best to use your cameras.

Just a quick run down on what’s going on this week at Southfield Stationers craft shop.

We have two drop-ins firstly on Tuesday 8th June and then Saturday 12th June both are on 1pm-4.30pm so please feel free to come along to either or even both.

Thursday 10th June evening workshop is make your own Waterfall cards with Yvonne Carruthers. Yvonne makes fantastic cards and is a fun teacher. This workshop is on 6.30 - 8.30pm.

Saturday 12th June  apart from the drop-in we have a Parchment workshop with Helena Malcolm a seasoned card maker, this runs from 10am to 1pm. And finally we have two FREE factory tours the first at 12noon and the second at 2pm (please book for these). Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes? Then join in on one of our tours and find out!

We are now  OPEN FOR BUSINESS again after our stock taking.

This week consists of two drop-ins the first one on Tuesday 1st June 1pm-4.30pm and then the second on Thursday 3rd June in the evening 6pm-9pm. Both are free so come along and have  lots of fun!

Then on Saturday 5th June 11am-4pm we have a rolling demonstration on Quilling with Moira Peter. Moira has been quilling for some time now and makes beautiful cards using different quilling techniques, so if you just want to see how it is done or you have any questions then feel free to come along.

And finally please note that we are moving our CHARITY EVENT to the same weekend as our SPECIAL EVENTS WEEKEND on Saturday & Sunday 3rd & 4th July as it seems a better idea to have them all on the same weekend instead of one after another. It also means the CHARITY EVENT will last for 2 days and so we will have a chance to make even more money for the said charity which is “Compassionate Friends”. Thank you to everyone who managed to make it along to our event on Saturday, it was nice to see so many people especially with the weather being so nice but I think the two fans we had set up helped keep things cool inside.
