That’s us approaching autumn fast and to celebrate we have got a new range of autumnal background papers along with a beautiful new range of Christmas background papers.

We also have a new paper doll range called ‘Sassy Dolls’ the Festive collection. 6 designs both in colour and  ’colour your own’ designs. Fantastic for this years christmas cards.

Tomorrow Saturday 28th August 11am-4.30pm is our rolling demonstration on how to get the best from you’re folding board, how to make different shaped cards and boxes.11am-4.30pm.

Then during the week on Tuesday 31st August we have our crafter’s drop-in session 1pm-4.30pm and then also the following Saturday 4th September at the same times.

Our new events program is now out so please pick one up next time you are in and if you have any questions please feel free to ask a member of staff or call us on 0131 654 4300.

The new events and workshop program will be out next week so keep your eyes open for that,(we do not automatically send them out anymore so if anyone would like it posted please give us a call and we will be happy to send you a copy out.) So until then here is what is happening at Southfield over the next week.

This week we have three drop-ins, tomorrow 21st August 1pm-4.30pm,Tuesday 24th August 1pm-4.30pm and then Thursday 26th in the evening from 6pm-9pm.

On Wednesday 25th we have a parchment workshop in the morning 10am-1pm for all you parchment lovers.

Thursday 26th August is the last in our photoshop sessions for this season which runs 7pm-8.30pm.

And finally next Saturday 28th August is our rolling demo on how to get the best from your scoreboards, showing you how to make interesting cards and boxes.

This months  magazines (Making cards and Parchment craft) are already here again so if you would like one put aside then please let us know

We have also just had a delivery from Hunky dory which has some beautiful new decoupage and topper sheets and some lovely christmas vellum too.

We have just got in a range of new pre-cut decoupage sheets from UK Crafts delivered the end of last week, these  include new Christmas images, also we have got back in stock ‘The Services’ 3D decoupage sheets which include Doctors, Firemen, Soldier, airmen, etc.

This week we start of with our usual drop-in on Tuesday 3rd August afternoon 1pm-4.30pm.

Wednesday 4th August we have a FREE demonstration 11am-12.30pm on great ideas with peel offs.

Thursday 5th August is a CHILDREN’S workshop 11am-12.30pm making pop-up cards with a difference a difference.

Thursday 5th August we also have the CHILDREN’S pop-in and that runs between 11am-1.30pm.

Then finally on Saturday 7th there are both a parchment workshop 10am-1pm and also a drop-in 1-4.30pm.

I have been uploading pictures of cards we have been making in the shop and if you click on the photo a description should appear underneath of which materials were used. (I have not done this for all the cards but should have it done by the end of the week.)

This weeks CHILDREN’S workshops are Tuesday 27th July 11am-12.30pm -  make your own canvas creation.

Thursday 29th July 11am-12.30pm - making trinket boxes and treasure chests and also on Thursday there is the children’s pop-in 11am-1.30pm.

For the adults we have two drop-ins on Tuesday 27th July 1pm-4.30pm and then Thursday 29th in the evening 6-9pm.

Saturday we have a rolling demonstration with Yvonne showing you how to get the best from your TIM HOLTS products including Distress inks, ink pads, alcohol inks and some of his new sizzix dies. This is on 11am-4.30pm so just pop along when you have time.

For any of you who do not receive our weekly e-mails we would just like to let you know that this months Making Cards and Parchment Craft magazines are both now in stock and we are happy to put one aside for anyone who would like one. We have some new cuttlebug embossing folders in stock and also Sizzix dies and embossing folders including some new designs by Tim Holts.

Children’s workshops we have - MAKE YOUR OWN MOBILE on Thursday 22nd 11am-12.30pm when you can create a fantastic mobile for your room or as a gift. There is also the pop-in again on Thursday which will run between 11am-1.30pm. Please book for the workshop.

For the adults we have two drop ins, Tuesday 20th 1pm-4.30pm and then Saturday 24th at the same time.

Then Thursday 22nd we have an evening workshop on calligraphy 6.30pm-8.30pm with Yvonne.

This week at Southfield’s we have two drop-ins, the first is on Tuesday 13th July 1pm-4.30pm and then the second is on Thursday 15th July, this one being an evening drop-in 6pm-9pm.

We also have a FREE demo on Wednesday 14th 11am-12.30pm on sakura pens demonstrating how to get the best out of your sakura gel pens.

Also on Thursday 15th July in the evening we have the second of our photoshop workshops with Derek giving you ideas and tips on how to get the best out of your photoshop.

Saturday 17th July we have a workshop on Parchment craft from 10am-1pm. We also have an all day demonstration on stencils showing the different materials and uses you can get from them. This is FREE - you don’t need to book so just pop along if you have time.

And finally for the CHILDREN we have the second of our pop-ins on Thursday 15th July 11am-1.30pm this was a great success last week and we hope to see some familiar faces again this week.

We would like to start by thanking all our customers who were kind enough to donate all the wonderful items we had for our charity table this weekend, it was a fantastic success. We would also like to thank everyone who came along on Saturday and Sunday to join in, with all your help we have managed to Raise over £400 for or chosen charity ‘The Compassionate Friends’. So well done everyone for all your hard work and participation. We are being sent a certificate which we will put up in the shop for everyone to see.

We are also pleased to announce that the winner of our raffle from the weekend is Celia Kinmont, so well done Celia.

This week we have the start of the children’s workshops and pop-ins. On Wednesday 7th July we have “Murder Mystery” with Ann Gray learning how to solve clues just like real detectives. 11-12.30pm and on Thursday 8th there is a pop-in in the shop were children (accompanied by an adult) can come along to craft and create Anytime between 11-1.30pm. This may seem to be a bit long, but we have so much information we would like to share with you that we hope you will take the time to read this all as we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on all the fantastic bargains and offers!

SATURDAY 3RD & SUNDAY 4TH JULY - We have a charity table packed with loads of fantastic crafting goodies donated by lots of our customers which we will be selling for very low prices and all the proceeds will be going to “The Compassionate Friends” (for more information please go to www.tcf.org.uk) a charity which helps parents and family to come to terms with the loss of a child or children.

There will be a raffle for £50 worth of crafting goodies (the winner will be picked on Monday and will also be asked to choose the charity of their choice for our next charity event), 15% off all normal shop stock, bargain basket and half price on all cutting mats and scissors.

Yvonne will be here on Saturday offering a 20 min. ‘Indian Head Massage’ for £10.

And for the children we will have face painting, and No cook bakery classes with Jan for £5 making marshmallow roll, chocolate short cake, easy truffles and german biscuits. Classes are 11am - 12.30pm or 2pm - 3.30pm (please phone and book for these). So lots of good stuff going on  for you to come along and join in with.

Before our big event weekend we have on this week two drop-ins Tuesday 29th June 1-4.30pm and Thursday 1st July in the evening 6-9pm. Also on Wednesday 30th June we have a Parchment workshop 10am-1pm.
